The fourth concert for the Top 5 list – Rolling Stones at HOME. In the SWAMP (University of Florida Ben Hill Griffin Stadium). On the second biggest tour of their entire career in support of the Voodoo Lounge album, with supporting act The Spin Doctors. The giant scorpion tail stage! The towering blow-up characters! The lights and pyro and sound! The Stones for 3 hours!!! IT WAS EPIC!! It was the biggest production of anything Mary or I had ever seen at that point. I remember the two of us camping outside the record store to buy tickets using a lottery system beginning at 6AM on a Saturday morning. Absolutely one of the best shows I have ever seen.

I was 15 LOL I couldn’t hear afterwards 🙂
Yah, I remember waiting for the Rolling Stones to arrive from the airport. They arrived at the South endzone of “The Swamp” in a caravan of black SUVs. Awesome adrenaline rush!
Oh, ya, I also saw the Rolling Stones in 1980, at the Astrodome in Houston. “Lips” tour. Then to top off an awesome time, my friend and I walked into a local club near the Astrodome, and guess who’s playing in the back(and no cover)? Alice Cooper!
Great evening all around!
Great concert! I caught it just before I changed jobs and moved to Winston-Salem NC.
One of the best concerts I ever saw, 20 years ago on Thanksgiving Day this year! Was the third and last time I saw the Stones LIVE in concert! I remember Mick saying, in a countrified British accent- “I hear y’all have a pretty good football team here!” They then proceeded to play “The Girl With Far Away Eyes”! EPIC!!
I remember waiting in line. Unfortunately I had to leave for work but I gave my money to a total stranger who actually bought me a ticket!!! Was an awesome show. One I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Had front row seats,my brother lost the coin flip so he and his gf sat to the right of stage by Mick’s ramp!we saw three shows that tour,Birmingham and Atlanta also.last saw stones bobby Dodd stadium June 2015 greatest rock n roll band ever!
Was there , took my wife + two young boys 10 & 12 as I had bought 4 tickets with the idea that it would sell out and I could recoup my money selling the additional tickets. Well it didn’t come close to selling out so I loaded the boys up for a memory of a lifetime.
