Metallica tearing it up with their biggest stadium show ever, the WorldWired Tour! This will go down as one of the top 7 or 8 stage productions I’ve ever seen – it’s completely mental how massive this show was, by far the biggest Metallica production to date. Just get a look at the massive size of the screens behind the band (see them waaaaay down below as the tiny little ants on the stage?). The WorldWired Tour was following the Hardwired… To Self Destruct album and began in Feb 2016 and ran until Nov 2021, with 16 legs – 90 shows in North America, 68 shows in Europe, 5 shows in South America, and 5 shows in Asia – and brought in $427M at the box office.
Avenged Sevenfold opened and were touring to support their album, The Stage. Shawn went as well and, this being his first Metallica show, he was blown away. They were not gentle when they took his Metallifux virginity.
