Jul 11, 2003 – Metallica Summer Sanitarium – Turner Field, Atlanta GA

This was the 2nd Summer Sanitarium Tour – another Epic Bill and I can’t remember a second of it that wasn’t ridiculous.  On the bill was Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and or course Metallica anchoring the festival and promoting their St. Anger album. I was able to coerce one of my best friends, Tremayne, into going after relentless pressure to “sack up” and “expand your horizons” and other great peer pressure slams.  It was his first rock concert of any kind – nothing like starting out with a full days onslaught of metal and thrash in the hot GA sun in the middle of the summer.  I had him in the pit smashing it up pretty good by the time Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit made it onstage.  Classic!
